About Sessions and Speakers

David Patrick

Dave has been developing database applications for over 30 years. A Microsoft Certifed Trainer (MCT) since 2001, he has taught many classes from Intro to Programming to Advanced SharePoint Development. Dave is a five time Microsoft MVP and runs three user groups, MAD SharePoint, www.madsharepoint.com, the Mid Atlantic Cybersecurity Experts MeetUp, www.meetup.com/MACEME, and the Baltimore Cloud Meetup, www.meetup.com/Baltimore-Cloud.

Dave does SharePoint training and application development for DSA, Inc., a DoD contractor that does great work for the U.S. Army over at Aberdeen Proving Ground. Dave has a bunch of certifications, including MCSD App Builder, MSCE for SharePoint, and MCSA SQL Server certification.

In his spare time, Dave teaches as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Maryland College Park’s iSchool, Towson University and Stevenson University.

Session: Intro to Machine Learning with ML.NET

Come and get immersed into the world of machine learning with this introduction and demonstration of the ML.NET. We’ll show how to create an app that can predict the type of iris flower based on features such as petal length. We’ll show how to download and install ML.NET, create a data set, write the required c# code and run the finished app.

Luis Beltran

I’m a Microsoft MVP in Developer Technologies and AI. I am currently pursuing a PhD in Engineering Informatics at Tomas Bata University in Zlin, Czech Republic.

I’ve been developing .NET apps for +10 years. I find C# a really powerful language which allow us to create different kinds of software. I focus on mobile apps (Xamarin), cloud computing (Azure) and AI.

I enjoy sharing my knowledge with others.

Session: Building responsible AI models in Azure Machine Learning

The implications of AI and the responsibility of organizations to anticipate and mitigate unintended consequences of AI technology are significant. Organizations are finding the need to create internal policies, practices, and tools to guide their AI efforts.

Principles such as fairness, reliability, and privacy, among others are the cornerstone of a responsible and trustworthy approach to AI, especially as intelligent technology becomes more prevalent in the products and services we use every day. Azure Machine Learning currently supports various tools for these principles, making it seamless for ML developers and data scientists to implement Responsible AI in practice.

Let’s learn how to develop a responsible AI strategy using the Responsible AI dashboard components in Azure Machine Learning.

Javier Villegas

Javier Villegas is IT Director (DBA & BI Services) at Mediterranean Shipping Company with more than 20 years of experience working with SQL Server, Including Azure SQL.
His specialization is Administration, Performance Tuning, High Availability and Disaster Recovery.
Javier is a Microsoft MVP Data Platform since 2016 and MCT
He is a frequent speaker in technical conferences and events such as SQL Saturdays, PASS Virtual Groups, PASS Marathons, 24 Hours SQL PASS , vOpen , GroupBy , Data Saturdays and Azure Global Bootcamps.

Session: AI-fy your app with Zero ML expertise

AI is real. Is mainstream. Is accessible.
Long gone is the age of gatekeeping in AI. From professional developers who build intelligent apps using APIs and SDKs to citizen developers who consume prebuilt models in low-code/ no-code tools- Any dev can now do AI. #DemocratizedAI
Azure AI Services empower developers at any skill level to take advantage of breakthrough AI research and infuse intelligence into their own applications.
Join the session to learn
-How you can build AI apps today using simple API calls and zero machine learning experience.
-How you can build intelligent and responsible apps on your own terms- in the programming language of your choice and deploy in the cloud or on the edge.
-How Prebuilt AI services from will help you build AI apps that are easier to develop and faster to deploy.

-How to Operationalize Responsible AI practices

Ask not what AI can do for you tomorrow.
Ask what you can do with AI today.
